Privacy Policy
This is the Diviner Kal privacy notice. It has been written to explain what personal data I process and why, in accordance with UK data protection laws and the Information Commissioner’s Office advice to freelancers and small businesses.

The type of personal information (data) I collect:
• Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example names and contact details you choose to provide through my contact form when you make an enquiry or book a reading).
• Information relating to services I provide to clients (for example, when I receive an enquiry about giving readings at your event I will take details of your requirements).
Any personal information I process is provided directly by you for one of the following reasons:
• Contacting me (enquiries, bookings). When you submit a booking I collect your name, email address and question and use this ONLY to provide your reading. I archive your question and my response for twelve months in order to be able to provide any follow-up readings, should you request them, and then destroy it. When you submit an event or other enquiry I collect your name, the date and location of the event, and other requirements in order to provide my availability and a cost. I do not add you to any newsletter or service that would send you regular emails unless you specifically opt in.
• Arranging your reading. My Calendar widget will also collect personal information from you. You can read their privacy policy at https://calendly.com/legal/privacy-notice.
• Processing payments. My payment processor (SumUp) will collect payment information from you. You can read their privacy policy at https://www.sumup.com/en-gb/privacy/. As you go through checkout, this site may auto-complete your shipping and billing address by sharing what you type with the Google Places API and returning suggestions to you to improve your checkout experience. I do not receive your card details.
• Participating in feedback surveys.
• Providing details for (optional) case studies or testimonials.
• Business management and operations (to deliver my services, products and events, which includes carrying out any legal, financial and regulatory duties). The personal data processed will vary according to the specific activity but is always the minimum necessary).
• Operating my website, which collects personal data to help me to understand website traffic and webpage usage. This data includes information about your browser, network, and device; web pages you visited prior to coming to this website; your IP address. This information may also include details about your use of this website, including: clicks, internal links, pages visited, scrolling, searches, timestamps. This information is shared with Squarespace, my website analytics provider, to learn about site traffic and activity. You can opt out if you disable or refuse the cookie or disable JavaScript.
Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases I rely on for processing this information are:
(a) Your consent. You can remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting kal@divinerkal.com.
(b) If I have a contractual obligation.
(c) If I have a legal obligation.
I do not buy or sell Personal Data for marketing purposes.
How I safeguard and store your personal information
I keep Personal Data secure by taking appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect it against unauthorised or unlawful processing, loss, destruction, or damage.
I have controls in place to maintain the security of my information and information systems.
The retention of Personal Data varies in accordance with the purpose of the processing. I keep it for the minimum appropriate time then destroy it securely.
Where I transfer Personal Data to
Personal data is predominantly stored in the UK; however, I use Squarespace to publish my website. Their Data Processing Addendum (DPA) enables me to transfer European personal data to Squarespace and to permit them to lawfully process that data on your behalf.
Your data protection rights
Under data protection law, you have rights including:
Your right of access – You have the right to ask me for copies of your personal information.
Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask me to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate.
Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask me to erase your personal information.
Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask me to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that I transfer the personal information you gave me to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, I have one month to respond to you.
